She was a little hard to console and she did not stay that way for long so I gave her some neurofen. Instead of trying to get her to fall asleep on my and potentially waking her up as I am transferring her to bed I decided to try and comfort her in bed instead. I stoke her hair, and tummy (she seems to like it) to calm her down. Then I just made sure she could reach my hand…. and there I stood for 2.5 hours! She just had the hardest time finding her sleep poor thing. She was really trying too… I tried leaving before she was fully asleep at one point and she let me know that wasn’t acceptable! After 2.5 hours when she had not moved for 5min I snuck out and thought I was ok, by the time I got to the bedroom she started crying again. I just couldn’t go back! Her cry was quite ‘soft’ though and it didn’t take long before she’d fallen properly asleep.

Sofia woke us at 7.15am. We had breakfast, read books and played before the morning nap at 9am. She slept for 1.5 hours, and I got about 40min myself, which I really needed.

When Sofia got up we had lunch and played. I played peekaboo with Sofia… then I covered my head and said ‘where is mummy?’, but I left it there… so she lent over and pulled it off! Clever girl :). She also got a bit of time in the Jolly Jumper, which she loves so much. She is getting better and better at holding herself up – and she wants me to place her up. She practises by letting go of one hand, and this time she was moving her feet a bit as well. She does not trust herself getting down however, so I keep trying to encourage her to put her bum out so she can land on it. She doesn’t get it just yet though, she locks her legs so they are stiff and then she gives out a little cry when she wants me to help her down. Here is a video of Sofia standing assisted. She only slept for 50min for her second nap at 1pm. It seems to be when she wakes up these last few days and it doesn’t work well with her refusing the afternoon sleep because it’s too long for her to go from 2-7pm…

When Sofia got up I nursed her and then we played until 3.45, which is not really long enough awake time, but I gave it a go… She was struggling and moving around quite a bit, and whinged a bit… but I let her just so I could eat something. Once I was done I got up to get her, but then she seemed to get quiet and before I knew it she had found her sleep. She slept for 30min and it was just perfect timing.

I got dinner ready, lentils and vegetables… She’s had that a few times now and have always eaten it, but today she just had a few spoonfuls before she refused. ‘Mormor’ was FaceTiming with us at the time and Sofia was really ‘talking’ to her. So much fun to see and hear. We are all so looking forward to our Europe stay. I had to give Sofia something else, and she ate the whole potion and more – so she was clearly hungry.

Then it was time to start the night routine. Sofia went to sleep without any fuss.

Standing assisted

As we were getting ready to sleep (10am) Sofia started crying so I went in.
