Sofia woke up crying at 9pm and I stayed with her until she fell asleep, luckily it didn’t take as long as 2.5 hours this time… but it still took an hour. As soon as I got back to our bedroom and got ready to jump into bed Sofia started crying again! I didn’t know what to do, but I just didn’t want to keep going back all night so I waited whist she cried and felt bad. She stopped after about 10min or so and found her sleep *puh*.
Sofia then woke me up crying at 3am so I went in and nursed her, and then she woke me up at 7.20am. She wasn’t very hungry for milk so I read to her and tried again and she still refused. Then I made her breakfast (oatmeal and blueberries) and she ate a frickn’ man-size portion! We had a bit of a play before I put her down for her morning nap at 9.30am and she slept till almost 11am.
When Sofia got up we had lunch and played for awhile. Sofia went down for her second sleep at 1.30pm and she only slept for 45min. When she got back up we had a bit of a play. Then I took Sofia and Pablo for a walk. Pablo was pulling like crazy most of the way and it was just not a very pleasant walk. I got to dress Sofia up in a hat and jacket however as it was pretty cold – she looked sooooo cute! When we got back from the walk Sofia played on the play mat -she is getting very close to crawling forward. We talked to ‘morfar’ on FaceTime and Sofia seemed to really enjoy it. We are all looking forward to getting to Norway and Switzerland so much – we can hardly wait :).
Then it was 5pm all of a sudden so we said goodbye and Sofia had dinner. I tried lentils again (don’t ask me why), and it was the same reaction – 2-3 spoons and complete refusal. So… I had to make (defrost) chicken dish instead. She ate the whole portion this time. Then it was time for the bedtime routine. Everything went well, even walking out the door and an additional 2minutes – then Sofia started crying loudly. I left it for a min to see if she would settle, but it just got worse. She started screaming like she was terrified so I went in to give her a pat on the back and say I was there before I quickly left again. I thought that’s what you’re supposed to do, but oh my she was just screaming uncontrollably so I went in and picked her up. I cradled her in my arms and hummed a song to her and that quickly calmed her down. So… after about 5min I started putting her down on the bed (knowing she was still awake, but tired), and she started crying again… but only until she realised I wasn’t going anywhere. I kept singing and stroking her hair until she fell asleep.
Another 20min when that sleep cycle was over she woke up and started crying like she was absolutely scared again. I tried to just keep it short again, as I can’t keep doing this all night every time she wakes up?! She would not have it though, and Mike went in for a bit so I could finish my dinner and then I went in so he could finish his… I caved and bribed her with a boob – and that seemed to work wonders (we had also given her a bit of neurofen). I really don’t hope she’ll keep this up through the night…
