Sofia woke up at 6.30, so I got up and played with her. She had a snack and then breakfast. She had her morning nap at 9.30 and slept for an hour.
When Sofia woke up I got us ready and drove to Caloundra. I parked the car and we walked the main street and sat down at a cafe for lunch. Then we went to the library. On the way there she flashed a big smile at a couple of ladies walking behind us – all of a sudden I heard: ‘that baby just smiled at me!’ – and then they were both gushing all over her ha ha. The library had a few things going for kids – some toys and crayons were laid out. Sofia seemed to enjoy herself. She is always trying to get other peoples attention – so cute. I also managed to grab a few books to rent. All of a sudden I looked at the time and it was getting close to her nap, so I grabbed her by the hands to go and she didn’t want to. When I put her in the pram she whinged loudly and arched her back to slide out… I ended up putting her back down, checking out the books and then telling her: ‘Sofia – ferdig om 20’. Meaning finished in 20… Then I count down from 20. I do that every day at bath time, and it seemed to work now as well. When we got home I put her straight to bed. She took her time finding sleep, but she didn’t cry until the end… and then I went in. She had filled her nappy poor thing, so I changed it (again!) and put her back into bed. At that stage she was clearly way too tired and she started crying. I went in a couple of times but it just got worse so I picked her up. She was soooo distressed it took several minutes to calm her down. I put her on the boob and she fell asleep that way – then I put her back into bed.
When she woke up at 4pm she’d slept for an hour. She had a snack and then a play whilst taking to ‘Mormor’ Jette. She lights up every time – so nice to chat :). Then it was time for dinner. I tried to bring in a few toys so she could keep herself busy in the kitchen whilst I prepared dinner. No hope! It took me 20minutes to cut 3 carrots! I needed to keep an eye on Pablo, because every 2minutes I have to ‘bark’ at him when she’s licking Sofia or her toys and then praise him when he’s being good. Sofia kept pulling herself up on my legs to be picked up – so I gave up… and she had pre-made stuff.
Just as dinner was ready and I was running around the house with Sofia Mike came home. Then Mike took over so I could get dinner on the table. Mike fed Sofia and I got things ready for the nighttime routine. Sofia was fine until we were walking out the room – then she started crying. I went in a few time (also gave her pain relief) but it didn’t seem to help, so I picked her up for a long mega cuddle. Then I put her back down and stood there until she fell asleep.
