Sofia woke up at 1.45am and cried. I went in, gave her a cuddle and stayed until 2.15am but clearly that wasn’t long enough. I had to go back in, but only to put her back down and say she has to sleep. Then the fun started. I was back in until 3.30am. She would fall asleep, but only for 10min and then she’d wake up crying… So I gave her some pain relief and staying with her until she fell asleep. At 4.05 I was able to leave the room and go try get some sleep myself.
Sofia woke up at 6am of course. Mike went and got her and we managed to get a few cuddles in before she went ballistic. Then I got up and got her breakfast before I played with her. Sofia was sooo tired however and I didn’t want to push it too far and have her sleep even worse so she ended up in bed and asleep by 8.45am. She slept for about an hour.
When Sofia woke up it was still so early so I gave her a snack and then after we had played for 1.5 hours or so I have her lunch. Then I washed the dog whilst Sofia watched from her walker (although she couldn’t really see into the tub from there so she wasn’t having the best time). Then we barely had time to play before she got super tired again – so it was off to bed just before 1pm. Sofia slept for a little more than an hour.
When Sofia woke up we had a snack and played for a bit before FaceTime’ing with Morfar Erik and Arjan and then Mormor Jette. It’s so nice to see them and talk to them – even though it’s not for long. Afterwards Sofia had an early dinner (5pm instead of 5.30) to have her in bed by 6pm. Hopefully she’ll have a better night tonight.
Today I really felt Sofia had the balance and I let go a few times when I felt this and she stood each time for 5-10 sec. It feels like such a massive achievement. I know she’s not comfortable with the feeling of me letting go because she bends the knees and sits down when I let go – it’s not that she’s falling. Then she gets a little upset and cranky with me. She looked at me so accusatory one of the times – and her bottom lip started quivering. I had to tell her she was doing great and it was no need to worry – that I had her back. She stopped and smiled like she understood.
