Mike woke me up asking how Sofia was doing. The monitor had stopped working so it was a good thing he asked. It was such a storm outside – thunder and lightning. I got the monitor working again and I saw Sofia sitting up, looking around and the lying down to sleep. Eyes wide open and probably wondering what was going on. She didn’t cry however, and hopefully not because we haven’t been able to hear her for who knows how long. Mike decided he wanted to go in and give her a big cuddle. I think he’s grooming her into coming into our room for cuddles whenever there’s a storm. Result being Sofia was on me in bed like koala. Although it was nice to cuddle it was impossible to sleep like that. She did try to sleep next to us as well, but it didn’t work and she got more and more awake. Finally Mike put her back in her own bed again (after 1.5 hours).
Sofia woke up at about 7.20am. Sofia had brekky first, and then Nani and I. Mike got ready for work and left. After looking after Sofia whilst I had a shower Nani took Pablo for a walk. Thank you Nani :). I played with Sofia, read books etc until she got tired at around 10. She was asleep at 10.30 and slept for about an hour.
When Sofia got up we met up with Venessa and Tate from mothers group. So good to see people again. Sofia’s most spoken word is now ‘MEH!’ (Mer – which means more). She uses it not only for food, but also if something fun happen she’d like repeated. We went to a playground and there was quite a few kids there – maybe around 10-11 years old? They started interacting with Sofia and Tate. It was funny to watch. They all got a high 5 from Sofia, they got Tate to clap and one of them even got a hug from Sofia. All very cute. I had to get her out (they were inside a ‘ship’) when she crawled up on the bench and tried to stand up but couldn’t because she was too tall. All of a sudden she started crying so I got her out. It was getting late at that stage however so I put it down to bring tired. So we said our goodbyes and left. At home I gave her more of a snack before I had to put her in the bath quickly to get all the sand off. I put her to bed, but 30minutes later she’s wide awake still so I got her back up. Then Nani was back as well so we all played in the back yard – Pablo included. Afterwards Nani started cooking and I was learning /watching. Sofia wanted to be picked up by Nani because she was doing something interesting. It didn’t help that I picked her up to show her that she could see if I held her – plus that Nani could do what she was doing. Sofia was crying easy and a bit difficult. She was super hungry poor thing. So… she had some food whilst we were cooking and then she ate lots of the nice frittata Nani cooked. Dinner was an hour early because she’d only had an one hour sleep. Once again she started throwing food on the floor so the dinner ended. I think she was done at that stage though. As I put her in the bath Mike got home so we put her to bed together. She was very snotty and started crying for every little bit. So after we supposed to put her in bed I sat down with her on me. She was pretty much asleep when I put her in bed, but she realised what I had done and started crying. I stroke her hair and back and she calmed down. I stood there until she’d fallen asleep, which didn’t take long.
