Sofia kept bumping into me, playing with my hair and throwing her hand in my face. She slept until about 5.30am and decided she wanted all of us to get up and play. Mike and I were pretty much dead, but Mike at least managed to put a movie on the iPad so to buy us a bit more time. She then watched Rio 2 until I woke up (she’d paused it) so I pressed play again and we kept watching together. Poor girl is so snotty and the coughing is getting worse. When Sofia had a packet for brekky and she couldn’t finish it (that’s a first!). We got up and took turns watching Sofia and getting ready. Then Mike left for work. Sofia and I played for a little while and then she wanted to watch Frozen. I know she shouldn’t watch this much, but she’s so sick and it’s all she wants…
Afterwards it was time for a snack (once again she didn’t have much). We had a short play and then it was time for her nap. She was over tired at that stage I think as she wanted to play on the bed and for me to chase her. I had the hardest time trying to get her to stay in bed. I left twice, and went back in twice. She then finally laid down and fell asleep pretty quickly. However, she woke up after just 20-25min! It took awhile, and change into the old bed before she was pretty much asleep so I left. Then the neighbour started his lawnmower – it’s probably the loudest in the world! Sofia woke up crying and I knew to give up. The neighbour goes string and loud for a bit more than an hour. So…., I put in the last of Frozen (hoping she might fall asleep on my lap, but no such luck). As soon as he was done we had a snack and I tried again, but Sofia wouldn’t have it :(.
Once again I got her out of bed. She played and I got a bit of housework done. Then we had a snack and played for a bit more. Sofia played for a long time with her toys and I started making dinner.
Sofia didn’t want any of my dinner! Chicken, pasta and vegetables. She didn’t even try any of it :(. When I suggested cheese and tomatoes however, she ate the lot and wanted more… so I gave her more tomatoes.
Afterwards I spent some time getting her in the bath and then I put her to bed. She seemed tired and ready, but then as I actually got her into bed she started moving around again. It took me awhile to get her to sleep, and then when I thought I had she cried for me about 10minutes after I’d left. When I got back she was so restless and I asked her if she wanted back into her old bed and she instantly tried to crawl into it. So I got her to sleep in the cot. That didn’t take long either however, and when Mike got home she was crying again. Mike went in and she fell asleep on him. Then about 10min later I had to go in again! Poor girl, she keeps crying – little soft cries – even when she’s being held. She’s sooo tired, but I guess in pain. I tried to give her pain relief, but she didn’t want it. I managed to talk her into half, but she refused the last bit unfortunately. At about 8.30pm she was finally asleep. Hopefully she’ll sleep for a bit longer this time.
Sofia woke up one more time before we went up bed. She seemed happy just to see me and have me pat her back (she didn’t even sit up so she must have been very tired). However, she woke up again about an hour after that and we decided to bring her into bed with us again.
