Sofia woke up crying at 5.30am. I got her and hoped she’d give us a bit more sleep in our bed, but that didn’t happen and I got up and played with her. Sofia had breakfast at 7.30am and I put her to bed so she was asleep by 9am. She went to sleep without any issues and slept for 1.5 hours.
Just before Sofia woke up I had realised that someone had hacked my mums website. So I spent some time online chatting with the host to see if they could help. Sofia was half playing by herself and half trying to get my attention – so came in for cuddles now and then. It took awhile and the woman knew nothing of hacking, but had a few suggestions. Mostly preventative however… so nothing to do but wait until Mike can help when he gets home. I put it away and Sofia had lunch… She all of a sudden realised she could get herself understood by pointing at things and going ‘bah?’. Then I would grab it (or different things until I got it right) and tell her what it’s called – and she could grab it and feel it (if it was safe). Major break through! I feel like we’re really starting to have conversations. Then we played for a little while before I put her down for her afternoon nap.
Sofia would have nothing of it. She was clearly tired but she just refused to sleep. She was crying and screaming. I had decided I wouldn’t back down this time because I think me giving in almost every time I have tried this is just making her more persistent. It took over an hour of going in every 10min! Then Sofia finally seemed to fall asleep, but she woke up crying after just 15-20min. At that stage I picked her up and cuddled her – hoping she might get a few more minutes on the boob. That never happened.
Sofia had a snack whilst I got us ready and then we went grocery shopping. When we got back it was time for dinner. Once again Sofia pointed at everything and wanted to get into the fruit bowl. She also pointed to the laptop during dinner and I took that as meaning we should FaceTime with grandparents. I might have been wrong, but we have facetime’d a lot more frequent lately. Unfortunately none of the grandparents could in such short time. Whilst the bath was running and we were walking around the house daddy got home. So we did the nighttime routine together. Sofia started crying before we even got to the door. I had to go back in a couple of times, but then she seemed to finally find her sleep.
Here is a video of Sofia dancing:
