Sofia woke up at 6am. I got up and got her before handing her over to Mike and taking the dog for a walk in the beach so that they could have some father / daughter time. When I got back Mike made brekky for us. Afterwards he left for work and Sofia and i played for a bit. Then it was time for a snack and music session.
Music session went really well. Sofia was more following this time than any previous times. She was trying to do hand movements, rhythms etc. She looked like she had a lot of fun.
When we got back I quickly got an early lunch into her and put her to bed. I did the banana song (as they had done at music), and this time she was overjoyed and wanted me to repeat and repeat. When Sofia was finally in bed she took about 20min of playing with her bear and snowman before falling asleep. She picked them up and told them ‘no’ over and over. So funny! She seemed to be practicing.
Sofia slept for about 1.5 hours. When she woke up we had a snack and then went to the playground. The last couple of days she’s told me no when I ask her if she wants to go to the playground. She even runs and hides. Same happens with every nappy change. Why is that? I really wish I knew. I was pretty sure she’d love it though so I put in the effort to get her into the car. And sure enough she was super happy once we got there. A little boy (3 years old) ran up to her and could not stop talking to her. Sofia starred at him a bit confused… He grabbed her by the hand and he also went in for a hug a couple of times. After that he tried to boss her around a couple of times, but his mum stepped in. She was very nice. Great talking :). Then the little boy saw my watch and would not stop touching it and pressing the buttons. At about 4.45pm they went home and so did we.
When we got home I heated up a leftover dinner and plated up whilst Sofia watched a bit if ‘Rio’. She’s watched a couple of times before so I didn’t think anything of it. All of a sudden she started crying and was very upset from one of the scenes. I gave her lots of cuddles of course and let her know they were all ok. It was time to eat thankfully so I turned it off. Made me think I need to be even more careful what she’s watching.
After dinner Sofia had a bath and then it was time for bed. Sofia was ok until she got into bed and I was going to tuck her in. Then she sat up, got up and grabbed onto me. She didn’t want to let go. I had to be s bit firm and say it’s time for bed… She did not want to go to bed without the two penguins she’d been playing with in the bath. So she went to bed with one in each hand. It didn’t take her very long before she was asleep.
