Sofia woke up at 5am and was stirring – trying so hard to get back to sleep – and dozing until 6am. I went and got her and she had a snack. Then Mike and Pablo went for a walk whilst Sofia played and I made blueberry pancakes. Whilst I was giving Sofia kitchen stuff to keep her entertained I managed to pinch her fingers in the drawer (I hadn’t seen they were there when I closed the drawer!!!). Luckily I closed it very slow and gentle because she was so close… She cried, but got over it very quick. I felt so bad :(. At least there were no marks on her poor fingers. We all had brekky together which was nice. Sofia seemed to like the pancakes – and so did Pablo ;). Afterwards I had a shower whilst Mike looked after Sofia and then we swapped. I put Sofia to bed so she was asleep at 8.45 – she was very tired.
I called the osteopath back (they had been trying to get ahold of me yesterday as the have to reschedule my appointment). I could get an appointment today at 12 or tomorrow at 2.30. I thought today would be too hard to arrange so I booked in for tomorrow, and then called Nani Claire to see if she could look after Sofia. She couldn’t tomorrow, but today – so I called the osteopath back again to swap, but the appointment was already gone. Since Claire was busy I just texted to say she didn’t have to come down after all, but that she was welcome to if she wanted to anyway…
Sofia slept till 9.45, so I gave her a snack and hurried us out the door so that we made our music session. Sofia had a great time, but there is quite a few things in the class that you have to be a little older to understand and participate in. However, already today she did so much better. She even put some instruments back in the box towards the bed of the session – I guess she realised the bigger toddlers were putting things back and tidying up after themselves. When we sat in the car about to go home I got a text from Claire saying she was outside and had only now read my message. So Nani got a bit of Sofia time. Sofia was walking around with both of us. It was nice with a bit of time to clean up a little bit :). Then it was time for Sofia’s lunch. Afterwards Nani went home as Sofia was very tired and I put her to bed.
Sofia slept for about 1.5 hours. When she woke up I took her grocery shopping – and we also got a couple of toys at K-mart – and a couple of tops for me. When we got back all she wanted to do was walk – and we did for about 30min. Then I had to start cooking. I feel like Sofia is so close to walking at the moment. The new thing today is that she walks comfortably holding on to only one hand. She will start walking towards you without holding in to anything – and will walk 3-5 steps. She will also just stand still without holding in to anything. I’m so proud of her. She had once again such a big breakthrough today – walking wise :). She is getting a lot more confident. So I did feel bad about spending time cooking, but I did do my best to walk with her, catch her, cuddle her and show her the cooking process. She was very whingy at the end poor thing, but then as soon as food was put infront of her she was smiling and laughing. She seemed to really enjoy her food. We were almost done when Mike got home, but he managed to eat as well before Sofia was completely done. Then it was time for the nighttime routine, and Sofia was in bed by 6.40pm. Hopefully it’s not too late and she’ll still have a good night sleep.
Sofia woke up at 9pm really crying. I went in and gave her a super mega cuddle that probably lasted a good 2-3minutes and put her back down. She just went back to sleep with no fuss whatsoever – must have been what she wanted and needed. Feels good that I could help.

A big growing up girl, walking quite well, and yes, over that step and back and again over it, and along the glass door, looking at the person who is in there; and of course, it is herself…..
Great fun exploring….-:)
