25 June
I got up at 5.30am and had a shower, then Sofia woke up at 5.45am so I grabbed her and got her ready. Afterwards we finished packing, got everything in the car, said goodbye to Pablo and had brekky in the car.
Flight was great! We got an extra seat so we had a row to ourselves :). Sofia was excited and seemed to get when we were taking off that we were in fact in an aeroplane that was going up up up in the sky. Soooo cool! It was only the last 10min she got a bit restless, but it passed … She watched the landing and 1min later she was asleep in my arms. It went very quickly! Mike managed to get her into the stroller without waking her up too much. She put herself back to sleep soooo quick. We picked up our luggage and waiting till our taxi arrived and Sofia woke up just as we were about to put her in the taxi – her coughing woke her up after about 40min sleep.
We took a taxi to Ingrid and Curtis and went out to lunch together. It was very nice to see them again :). Sofia is just loving the attention and taking it all in.
When it was almost 2pm we went to our hotel to check in. Wow, what a place! We are staying at World Tower at serviced apartments. Mike thought he’d booked a 2 bedroom place, but it is 3 bedrooms!!! We’re on the 74th floor and the view is crazy good :).
After settling in a bit Mike went to grab a few things – including nappies that I forgot to pack ha ha (how’s that possible?). When he got back we tried to put Sofia down for a little nap, but she wasn’t having any of it (even though she was clearly super tired). We got her back up and then I left to meet up with Dara. It was soo nice to catch up. We’ve both been through so much since we saw each other last (especially her). At about 5pm Dara came back with me to say hi. She’d brought a DVD for Sofia (hi5) – very thoughtful. Whilst I was gone Mike had bought her the cutest trainers! She was running up and down the hallway when we got out of the lift. Dara stayed for a little while until dinner was brought up to the room and then she left. We had dinner together before Sofia had a bath and then we put her to bed (in a cot that was in the room).
I had brought some of her bath toys, her bed dog (night light and cuddly dog), pillow and quilt so she’d hopefully feel a bit like home.
