Sofia whinged every 20min or so between 5ish(am) and when I went in to nurse her at 6.20am. I refuse to say ‘good morning’ now before it’s closer to 7am. So I waited until after I had nursed her to cheerfully say ‘good morning’ and ‘have you had a good night sleep?’. We read books, had breakfast and played for a bit before her morning nap. She is really getting around at the moment – she scoots backwards, swings to the sides, and pushes herself up to a sitting position. She might not be crawling yet, but if she wants to get somewhere she does he he. Here is a video of Sofia getting herself up to a sitting position.
Her morning nap lasted for 2 hours and a bit! When she woke up we had lunch before we went to the community centre to get her weighed and measured. Usually I can get a park right outside, but this time I had to park 6-7min walk away. By the time I got there, carrying Sofia in my arms, all the spaces outside (3) were available – how typical! Bwahahah. At least I got a bit of work out :). Sofia weighed 7.8kg and measured 70cm tall. On the way back I stopped quickly to get some food, and by the time we got back and I had put Sofia to bed she’s been awake for 2.5 hours. I watched on the monitor as we sat up, laid down and sat up and laid down etc. ‘Oh here we go!’. I went in to try and nurse her to sleep, but that did not help. She was doing gymnastics on me and I finally had to put her down in her bed and let her calm herself down… She rolled around and whinged a few times before she finally fell asleep (about an hour after I first tried to get her sleeping). And before you think she probably wasn’t tired…. she’d been yawning and rubbing her eyes on the way back…
Sofia only slept for 20min… I got her back up and we played and FaceTime’d with ‘morfar’. That was very nice :). We can’t wait to see everyone :). After FaceTime with ‘morfar’ I could tell for sure that Sofia recognised herself and me in the mirror. She kept turning around to look at me and in the ‘mirror’. I put a toy on her head and she looked at herself, then up and grabbed it… Then Sofia had dinner and we played for a little bit.
Then a friend of Mike and his mum came over. They will be staying here and looking after the dog whilst we are gone. It just worked out soooo well – lucky us :). We had pizza and talked for a bit. It was nice to have company for once :). They didn’t stay long and we went to bed early – as usual.

I’m so glad you have someone house sitting with the dog. “I FEEL BETTER NOW”.
I love Sofia’s gymnastics, she will soon run and I see Mona running after her and they both giggle……..-:)
