Sofia woke up a few more times, but I managed to get her back to sleep by stroking her hair a few times (minimal effort). Then at 2am she was crying and wanting out of the bed so I gave her boob and put her back to bed. She then woke at 4am crying and trying to stand up, so I grabbed her and put her on my arm in bed. That seemed to work for 1.5 hours or so although it wasn’t the best sleep for me, but then Sofia started to stretch, pinch, kick and punch again so I put her back into bed. I stroke her hair and hoped it was enough before I sank back into bed. I had just manage to fall asleep when Mike woke me up to ask where Sofia was?! I bit his head off – ups – I don’t work well on little sleep.
Mike took Sofia up and played with her. I got up about 7.15am. Morfar came and got us at 8am. We went to the police with Sofia to get her a Norwegian passport. It didn’t take long, apparently Mormor was told wrong by skatteetaten (but we don’t believe so). We’ll just have to get her passport sorted when we’re back in Australia and have a day off to spend in Brisbane at the Norwegian embassy.
When we got back we put Sofia to bed. She slept for 30min or so and then woke up crying. She was clearly in pain so we gave some pain relief and I rocked her to sleep. She kept whinging a bit in her sleep so I didn’t want to put her down… So she slept on me for awhile. When she got up we played with her and put her in a little storage box with water – and then naked on a mat outside. She seemed to love it! She is standing up every chance she gets now, but she needs something to hold on to.
She was so wired trying to go to sleep so I had to calm her down before I rocked her to sleep. She only slept for a short while.
Once she got back up we played for awhile before dinner and the night time routine. It took a long time to get her to sleep… Mike, Mormor and I watched ‘look who’s talking’. She ‘only’ had to be calmed back to sleep once. We went to bed straight after. She woke a few times before midnight but I managed to stroke her hair and get her back to sleep.
