Sofia woke up again at 2.30am and then at 6am. She seems to be having nightmares lately – I don’t like it. Can’t really do much though as it’s only a short whinge in her sleep. If it keeps happening at the same time every night I have read to wake them up 10min earlier… so if it happens at night again I will give that a go.
I drew it out until 8.30am before she had her nap so that maybe we’d be ok for the 11.30am swim session. Although she woke up after an hour she went straight back to sleep for another 30min. It was perfect timing as I just time to feed her solids as well as have a bit of time to digest before we had to go. She did however vomit a bit in the pool, so I might have to try and give it even more time… Sofia seemed to love every minute of it as usual and in the car on the way home she squealed and babbled. I love to see her like that :).
As soon as we got back I put her straight to bed after nursing, and I was glad I remembered nursing because she slept for 2 hours!
When Sofia woke up we headed to the post office to get passport photos taken. Very strict rules for infants, no head tilt, no tongue showing and no smiling. WTF??? Anyway… we got there after a few tries, so she did well. We drove straight home afterwards and I couldn’t help taking some ‘selfies’ with her – it was quite funny.
I tried putting her down for her afternoon nap, but she struggled and there isn’t a lot of time with that one so it was back up and eat. I gave her some soft melon strips she could hold on to and chew on. Before I knew it she was choking on one! Her eyes were wide with panic and her breathing laboured. Luckily the strip had not disappeared all the way… I could see it go up and down in her throat, so I got her out of the chair and turned her around so my arm was on her chest – ready to give her a couple of smacks in the back, but the strip had already come up and was on the floor. PUH that was really scary! I tried to camouflage how I felt with a smile and I made sure she had a few more strips (even if that was the last thing I wanted) because I didn’t want that to be her memory of trying finger foods. Afterwards it was time for the night time routine. Pablo is always with us when Sofia is having a bath these days, so today we brought in a step up for him because Mike is tired of being climbed on ha ha.
