Sofia whinged for a little bit at around 11pm, and I got up and was out the door like normal when it occurred to me that she wasn’t crying. She was just whinging … and that might not be so weird if she’s trying to get comfortable. So I left it, and sure enough she stopped quite quickly…. and she slept uninterrupted until 6.40am 🙂
I read to her and we ate breakfast together – oatmeal/barley mix with blueberries, apple and  banana – yummy. Then we played until her morning nap at 9am. Sofia slept for 2 hours!!! I got the house ready for the cleaners that we booked in to properly clean everything before we leave the house to our guests, who also will be taking care of Pablo whilst we are gone. As soon as I had nursed Sofia the cleaners were there. Talk about good timing! Even better timing was the text I got from Kaylene just before, asking if I was free for a walk later. We agreed I should come over as soon as the cleaners were there, and after showing them what we wanted done Sofia and I left.
We went for a short walk, before Andrew (her son) and Sofia both needed a nap. Kaylene had a portable cot I got to borrow. While Andrew fell asleep, Sofia seemed ridiculously awake so I got her back out for a little while longer. Earlier today I saw something that looked like the two lower teeth are coming out, so I showed Kaylene and she agreed. As I put Sofia down on the floor she got her knees up and all of a sudden she was on all fours, rocking! Oh my goodness, I got so excited I could hardly control myself ha ha. Then 2 minutes later she got there on her own and rocked back and forth a few times. She must be getting ready to crawl soon eh.
The second time around she fell asleep in the cot and slept for an hour. Kaylene and I managed to sit down and have a nice long chat – it was really nice. Andrew and Sofia pretty much woke up at the same time. Then Sofia wanted to stand – she lets me know now when she wants to get up (she starts trashing her legs up and down when she’s sitting). I helped her up and she stood really well holding on to the table – and a couple of times she stood by herself just for a few seconds before losing balance. Then before we knew it it was 4pm, Will (her husband) came home, we said hi and Sofia and I left.
We were home at 4.30pm and poor Pablo had not eaten anything off the (then frozen) rib that I had left for him in the morning. As soon as he had said hi to us he dove into the rib. It’s like he gets too distressed that he’s alone to eat :(. It makes me even happier that we’ve got such great people house and Pablo sitting whilst we are gone.
Sofia had a bit more of a play… and for a brief moment she was on all fours again (getting there by herself) and she went one step forward!!! It was so incredible to watch – I am so proud of my little girl.
At 5pm it was time for dinner and then bedtime routine. In bed I gave Sofia some pain relief and got her in her sleeping bag. When I left she started crying, I went back in after a few minutes and gave her a pat on the belly and saying she needs to go to sleep – then back out quickly. And she was crying again, then I waited 5minutes before going back in etc. She calmed down and started trying to sleep, but still gave the occasional whinge whilst I took Pablo for an hour long walk – with a short run on in a park included. Then I got back Sofia was asleep and Mike said she only whinged a few more times…
Now I am ready for bed. I can’t wait for tomorrow and see if Sofia makes more progress crawling/walking or if her teeth have come up more 🙂
