17 June
I got up at 6.30am and Sofia was still asleep so I got ready… she was still sleeping so at 7am I woke her up – very gently… She woke up with a big smile and had lots to say. I told her she was great for only having one wake-up and I gave her a frozen sticker. She loved it!
Then I made brekky, packed and drove Sofia to the hotel where Nani and Trish is staying. However, there had been a mixup and Nani had gone home to herself… so I ended up dropping Sofia off there instead.
Sofia had fun at Nani’s and I took Psblo for a walk on the beach. He loved it and got to play lots with other dogs! So much in fact I let him play for longer than I really had time for. Afterwards I filled petrol in the car and did online grocery shopping before I had to go get Sofia again.
Sofia and Nani were waiting for me when I arrived and Sofia came running towards me with a big grin on her face! Such a great feeling to see her like that. Melts my heart.
When we got home I have her a snack and then put her to bed. Sofia slept for less than an hour. She’d filled her nappy so I changed it in bed – hoping it wouldn’t wake her up too much as she was still very tired. I tried to stay until she was asleep, but she keeps wanting to play and talk to me…. so in the end I had to get her back up.
I got some cleaning done whilst Sofia played. Then we both ate before playing a bit more. At 3.30 I started getting us ready to go dancing and we just made it.
Aunty Trish and Nani Claire was already there. Dancing was fun as always, but Sofia is still just doing her own thing… Afterwards we all went home to ours. Nani brought food that she’d made – yay! So we had dinner together before Mike got home (around 6.30pm). We all played for a bit before bath time and bedtime. Sofia was struggling a bit, but I think mostly because she hadn’t slept much during the day and was super tired. I went in once and after complaining a bit she konked.
When Sofia cried the first time I had just fallen asleep and so I was very tired. Mike stepped up and went in. He did another couple of times as well before deciding to take her into our bed. That ended in catastrophe! She would not stop kicking and climbing around on us, and it seemed to be just getting worse and worse. She was even getting off the bed and running around… so she had to go back to her own bed.
