Sofia woke up at 6.15am and I went in to get her. I told her how proud of was of her for spending the whole night in her own bed and then we played for a bit. I started making brekky at 7am, but remembered Mike had told me the ‘garden boys’ would be here at about 7.15am (I thought) so I went in to wake him up. As I did they were knocking on the door. I finished making brekky and Mike showed them around. Then Mike, Sofia and i had brekky together. Afterwards I packed up things, changed Sofia and we were off to get some things done and to get out of the house as it was quite loud. We stopped at ‘scruffy puppies’ and dropped Pablo off for a nail cut and a wash :). Sofia was so tired however that she fell asleep straight after we’d dropped him off. We ended up driving around until they contacted us to let us know our puppy was ready for pick up. We went back and I jumped out to get Pablo whilst Mike kept driving with Sofia sleeping in the car. Pablo and I walked home and Mike and Sofia went shopping when she woke up after about 1.5 hours sleep in the car. Pablo was very excited about the walk :).
When Mike and Sofia came back home Mike continued with some gardening (the guys had just left then) whilst Sofia and I facetimed with mormor… It was so nice to see and talk to her – it’s not that often anymore and I miss my parents a lot.
Afterwards Sofia and I watched something whilst Mike ‘made’ dinner (thank you Nani for the wonderful soup!). Sofia had been super tired for awhile and after dinner it was straight in the bath and then to bed. Sofia starts crying as soon as she thinks we’re leaving, but I guess she needs to get used to the new bed and the new bedtime routine. She was the one that didn’t want us to sing anymore he he. Every time I try to sing to her now she looks at me, shakes her head and says; ‘no, no’. If I keep going she smacks me in the face. Not hard… Pretty funny actually. I guess I won’t try entering xfactor or idol anytime soon he he.
New word of the day; ‘clock’.
Sofia woke up crying at about 11pm. I went in, picked her up, patted her back whilst saying ‘shhhhhhhh’ and put her back into bed and left. She cried for less than 30seconds.
Next time I got woken up was at about 3.30am. Sofia was coughing like mad! I got in and she was tummy down on the foot stool. She got up, looked at me, ran over to her bed, grabbed the pillow and gave it to me. The she was like ‘I’m ready to go, come on let’s get to your bed’. It was so cute in a way I nearly said yes. But I thought I need to be strong or next night will be worse again. When I put the pillow back into bed she just looked at me and coughed a few times. It was almost a bit funny – it was like she was saying, ‘But Mummy I’m still sick. Listen to this cough!’ She still has a bit of a bad cough so I nearly caved again, it was pretty clear was was coughing for me though so I stayed strong. We’ll sort of… I ended up staying in her room (holding the side of her face) for 30min waiting for her to fall asleep – which she didn’t. Then I had to leave as I was about to have a coughing fit myself… I managed to get to the bedroom before she noticed and cried. Luckily she didn’t cry for long.
