Sofia woke up crying at about 10pm last night. We tried for awhile to get her back to sleep, but she was just screaming and refusing to even lie down…. so she ended up in our bed again. She’s got at least one more tooth coming so maybe it’s that as well but she’s just so happy during the day… We tried putting her back to sleep after awhile because she is just arms and legs as soon as she gets into our bed. It makes it impossible to get any sleep. She was screaming like she was being murdered again and she didn’t seem to taper off like she normally does… So, we brought her back into the bed a second time.
Sofia actually fell asleep in our bed this time. She was ON me pretty much the entire time though. Kicks and hands flying towards the head and tummy. Finally she fell asleep and she had her head next to me on the pillow (so my face was in her neck), and my arm was around her. It was soooo nice and I was getting the best cuddles! She was asleep, but I just couldn’t… Then it got light in the room so she woke up – and it was just before 6am. Worst night ever! Sofia was still cheerful and ready to go!? How????
Mike was sweet, he grabbed Sofia and took her outside to play so I could get a little more sleep. Before I know it it’s almost 7.30. I get up and make her brekky. We played for a bit and then I realised swimming was at 9am. We hadn’t been for a couple of weeks and now we’re in a different class so took her even though I knew she’d be tired.
Sofia had a great time, but all of a sudden clung to me and started yelling pretty loudly when I tried to put her side of the pool. So…, we cuddled for a few goes (for the others) and then she was ready to go again. I think she must have just been tired. We had a shower there (which is always a hit) and went home. Turns out daddy was staying home today as well (too much rain with this cyclone).
Sofia was knackered so I gave her an early lunch and a drink and straight to bed. She fell asleep quickly and slept for almost 2 hours. Unfortunately it was too early for a second sleep and not late enough for 1 sleep. However, she was sooo tired and rubbing her eyes at 2.20 so we thought we’d try. Sofia refused the sleep however, so it was back up and start dinner as I knew she’d have to go to bed early.
Thankfully I had all the vegetables already chopped up. We had dinner at 4.45, then Sofia had a bath and was in bed before 6pm. She started crying as we’d left and then screamed for a little while. She’s testing though, stopping to see if we’re coming. Varying the screams… It felt like a long time, but I timed it and within 10minutes she was quiet. Hopefully she’ll have a good night. I hope the cyclone doesn’t create too much heavy rain as the roof here makes it loud.

åh – den søvnen. Husker hvor avgjørende den var. 😉
