Sofia woke up 5.30, but dragged it out till 6am. After a feed and a snack Mike watched Sofia whilst I had a shower (first one since my fall!). It did make me feel a bit better. Mike took Pablo for a walk and then left for work. Sofia had brekky, but didn’t eat much. Afterwards we cuddled on the couch and watched ‘Dora the explorer’. Sofia was very cuddly, thumb in her mouth and leaning into me. It would have been sooo nice if I wasn’t struggling so much. My head was hurting, my stomach was hurting and the nausea just came and went. I still enjoyed the cuddles though. Then it was time for her nap. I could tell she was tired. She slept for 1.5hours.
When Sofia woke up I was feeling no better. Sofia was clearly not feeling well either and wanted to either be on my lap or standing next to me holding on to my leg. If I went more than 2metres away she started crying. She still somehow managed to be in a good mood when you’re with her and talking to her. She’s such a trooper. She felt very hot, but I couldn’t find the thermometer! So I went out to get one and took her temperature – 38.2. Then it was time for her nap so I put her to bed, but I kept an eye in her.
When Sofia woke up at 2.30pm I took her temperature again (once she’d woken up a bit) and it was the same. I called the doctor and told them about the situation and they said they could see us straight away. The doctor said Sofia has a throat virus that is probably also in her gut/ digestive system. The order was to giver her Neurofen and use some cold cloths on her head to cool her down. I did that as soon as we got home and within 30min her temperature was 37.4. Then we watched a bit more ‘Dora the explorer’ and played some iPad games whilst cuddling. Then it was dinner time, bath time and bedtime. After I had put Sofia to bed (6.15pm) Mike got home.
At 7pm whilst I was FaceTime’ing with Jette Sofia woke up crying. Mike went in, but now only a mummy would do. I stayed with her and we cuddled in the chair, but she didn’t seem to get comfortable. The very occasional fart made me think it had to be painful gas. I got her apple juice and she drank quite a bit of it. I stayed for a bit an rubbed her belly. By the time Sofia was asleep it was 8.30pm.
