Sofia woke up just before 6am, but only made some cozy sounds a couple of times… 20min later she was still awake (just laying down sucking her thumb) so I went in and got her. After a snack we played whilst Mike and Pablo went for a walk. Afterwards we had brekky and Mike went to work. Sofia and I read a book and played for a short while before her morning nap. She only slept for 30minutes before she woke up crying. I couldn’t get her back to bed. She was so happy to see me and could not stop talking to me so I put her back to bed, but it was too late at that stage…
When Sofia woke up she had a snack, and we had a quick play before I got a few things done. Afterwards I took her to a small playground that has good coverage. Sofia went down the slide a few times, but mostly just sat and played in the sand. Sofia had lunch there. She filled her nappy whilst we were there so I just put a mat over the sand and her on top. Whilst I was changing the nappy she grabbed a big fist full of sand and threw it in her own face!!! Sand all over her face and in her month…. Then she started rubbing her eyes! I had to hurry up so I could help her get the sand off. She’s a tough girl though – there were no tears. Only a slight panic towards the end. Other than that she seemed to enjoy herself. Afterwards we headed home and it was time for her afternoon nap.
Sofia woke up after just 30minutes again, but I waited to see what would happen (as she didn’t cry), and she laid back down after a minute or so and went to sleep – and she slept for another 50min. It was 3pm.
When Sofia woke up she had a snack and then we played and read book for awhile. Sofia has walked a bit today, but she’s being very careful at the same time. She doesn’t seem to want to over-do it. Then I started on dinner and Pablo followed Sofia wherever she went. She crawled in and out of the kitchen to see me, and then played a bit, then checked on me again. Came in for a hug etc. – very cute :). When dinner was ready we sat down to eat. Sofia was just done when Mike got home. We went through the nighttime routine together. Sofia cried again when we left. Tonight it took her 30-40minutes to fall asleep!
Sofia just seems to be getting more and more hyper at nighttime. Maybe we’ll have to cut out bath time? She loves it so much, but it seems to make her hyper – not calm her down.
