Sofia woke up at 5.30am. I was soooo tired. I asked Mike to go see if he could get her back to sleep, and he came back with her all chirpy and ready for the day. Then he goes back to sleep again whilst I had to get up with her. I was beyond tired, but I knew there would be no use not playing with her at this stage, so I did. I did however not give her any breastmilk or food before 6.15am, and she did (strangely enough) not ask for it. She wanted cuddles however, and she got in buckets – sure more than she wanted he he. After a snack she was very tired and I decided to put her back down for a sleep again at 7am and went to sleep in the guestroom not to wake up Mike and for him not to wake up me…
Mike told me she slept to 7.30. He gave her breakfast and took both her and Pablo to the beach. He’d written me a text so I knew what was going on so I didn’t have to worry :). It was so nice to wake up by myself and not having to jump up to do something. I gave myself permission to wake up slow. Then I put a wash on and did a few things before they got back. Once they were back Mike and I had breakfast. For the first time that got difficult because Sofia (who normally loves crackers) didn’t want the crackers she was given, but wanted mine instead – so she had bread for the first time… she had eggs (which she’s had plenty if times), and bacon! Ok before you judge me too harshly… it was organic nitrate free bacon (and only a couple of small bits). Then we decided to go to the zoo instead of Nani Claire coming here – for something different. It was a last minute decision so we packed up, got her into the car and took off. Only we hadn’t planned it well. Zoo is only 15min away and Sofia should sleep about an hour… So Nani ended up waiting for us at the gate whilst we sat in the car in the parking lot which the engine running – waiting for her to wake up. After 35-40min sleep Mike had to wake her up :(. We finally met up with Nani Claire. Sofia was happy. We spent 3 hours in the zoo and Sofia seemed to enjoy herself. She loved touching the kangaroo and koala, and watching the lizards run. Apart from the barks and leaves in the ground seemed to be more interesting. Sofia was quick to fall asleep in the car on the way home… This time we drove around until Mike had to go home to get to his appointment at 4pm. So he quietly got out if the car and I sat there until she woke up, which was just before her left.
While Mike was gone Sofia had a snack and a play. Then we went to meet up with Maja, Shane and Tian for a picnic dinner. The Caloundra Music Festival was on so we had great music in the background. It was very nice to see them. Sofia sat for a long time, but then wanted to walk around. Mike got to do some laps as well. Nice to be able to give my back a little break :). Sofia had her dinner there too (although she didn’t eat much – I guess too much going on) and we didn’t get home until 6.30! So Mike fed her a bit more dinner and I got everything else ready. We went through the routine and Sofia was asleep not long after7pm. Hopefully she’ll have a good night.
Here is a couple of videos of Sofia:

Yes, Sofia was more interested on the leaves on the ground……. sitting down and examining what kind of thing that was, that leave, people walked around her, remember, all great fun seeing a baby taking heed of these natural things……. -:)
