Sofia woke up at midnight. She had been stirring and occasionally whinging the last hour, and then she cried. Seems she couldn’t get back to sleep. When I went in I changed her nappy (very wet) and gave her some pain relief. However she seemed to think we were going to hang out and have a chat. At 12.45 I think she finally got the point and started trying to put herself back to sleep again. She was quiet for 15min so I went back to bed, but I had only just got into bed when she started crying again. This time I picked her up and we cuddled in the chair, and she fell asleep in me. Unfortunately she woke up as I tried to out her back to bed. She rolled onto her stomach and seemed very upset I had out her down. I ended up getting into the cot with her. She finally fell asleep and at 2.20am I went back to my own bed again. She then woke up crying at 6.45. Mike and Pablo had gone for a walk and got back when I was making breakfast. Mike went to work and Sofia and I played for awhile. All of a sudden she pulled herself up on her walker, pushed it out from the wall and started walking! Then she got so tired I put her to bed. It was 9.15, and she only slept till 10am.
When Sofia woke up I got us ready and out the door. We went to an indoor kids play area called chipmunks. Sofia loved it! Two a but older girls (3-4 maybe) kept touching her, stroking her skin, tickling her, giving her toys and then they started wanting to move her around. That’s when Sofia had enough and I had to kind of meddle in a bit. We had lunch there and then one of the mothers from mothers group finally got there (her little girl had played longer and slept longer). We chatted for a bit whilst our little ones played. Sofia even, without much coaching, crawled through one of those fabric tunnels that twists when she saw me in the other side. No fear :). Then I said we should go as I knew Sofia was tired, so we started saying goodbye and Sofia started whinging… Yeah she was very tired so we hurried out of there. 2 minutes out of the car park and she was asleep. So… I drove around until she got the sun in her face at a set if lights and woke up. She did at least get 45min although I wish it had been more.
When Sofia woke up we were almost home. Food had arrived, so I tried to unpack with the help of Sofia and Pablo. I gave Sofia bobble wrap (my favourite he he). When I was breastfeeding her afterwards she was rubbing it in my face and I thought it was a bit moist, but no more than I would expect. However, the smell! She had vomited a tiny bit on it and was rubbing it in my face!!! Nice one Sofia ;). We played together for awhile before it was time for dinner. I let her eat by herself again. That’s all she wants now. It’s ok at dinner because I just strip her down to her nappies :). Then she had apple and blueberries to pick at afterwards. All of a sudden she didn’t want apples ha ha. Mike got home as I was running the bath and running around with Sofia. We went through the nighttime routine and got Sofia to bed. Sofia protested and cried a bit going to bed. She also woke up crying at 8pm. Mike went in and she cried for a little bit afterwards but then managed to put herself back to bed.
