Sofia woke up just before midnight, she was crying and all teary so I couldn’t help but picking her up and giving her a good cuddle. She did not want to go back to sleep after that however, and after much back and forth I ended up giving her some pain relief and boob. She then slept till 5am. This time I just stayed with her till she fell asleep. I didn’t have it in me to try and let her fall asleep on her own. She cries every time I leave the room now… She slept till almost 7am.
We cuddled in bed for a little while and then we got up and had breakfast. Afterwards we played. Sofia was sooo tired – kept rubbing her eyes…. but I had to drag it out till 9am at least I though. When I tried to get her to sleep on her own however she got frantic and started crying. I did the crying out method for 1.5hours(!) and went in every 10min (after the initial 3 and 5 min). Usually she tapers off, but she just got worse. I didn’t know what to do. I did give in because she just got so distressed she seemed to be unable to calm herself down. So… I stayed with her until she fell asleep… but then she woke up 15min later! Then I gave her boob and let her fall asleep that way… but she woke up 10min later! At that stage it was 12 so I got her back up and fed her lunch…
After lunch I took Sofia with me to get more baby food. First I needed to fill the car with diesel. I got to the petrol station and I couldn’t get the lid off the gas tank! I realised I had not filed gas in this car before. I felt so stupid. However not as stupid as after I had asked the lady next to me for help. All I had to do was twist it the other way. Also, I had parked next to the petrol pumps – not the diesel that I needed (as she politely pointed out to me). Mike would have been sooo impressed if I had killed the engine because of this!
Anyway.., we got through it and got on our way. I shopped baby food and also a few things for the little sweet girl.
At home I unpacked and got great help from a little girl and the dog. Note to self; next time you unpack put the dog outside and girl in play pin.
Then I made dinner for myself (very easy), and used a new packet for her (minted lamb and vegetables). Her food really tasted nice, and it had proper chunks in them. When we were done I fed Pablo.
Sofia played for a little while whilst I got ready for her nighttime routine. Mike got home as Sofia was in the bath and we got her to bed together.
Every evening should be like this, so dinner is done by the time Sofia is in bed.
