Sofia woke up at 5am. I took her into our bed, have her a boob and hoped she’d fall asleep. No such luck. We ended up going for a long walk with Pablo to enjoy breakfast out. Sofia fell asleep in the pram and slept through most of breakfast – woke up in a good mood and kept it in the way home. When we got back she had breakfast as well and we had a short play. Then I had to try to get her sleeping before swimming. She had a hard time getting to sleep so I put her on me so she’d get an hour at least.
When she woke up Mike came with us to swimming. Sofia clearly remembered once we got close yo the building – her arms and legs went like crazy! She was smiling, laughing and talking loud through the whole sessions.
When we got back Sofia had lunch and a bit of a play before her afternoon nap. She slept for a good 1.5 hours.
We then went to look at a few open homes. When we got back Sofia had dinner, then a short play before bedtime routine. When we put her to bed she cried. Once again I tried the crying out method. I went in after 3 min, then 5, then 10 and then 10 etc… She was crying so much and I kept thinking and hoping the last time had to be the last. Then Mike went in to relive me, but he ended up staying and stroking her back until she fell asleep!!!! That ruined what I had just done. Not easy to hear her cry for that long – that made me a bit angry – and sad (because now it will be even worse next time I am trying to get her to go to sleep on her own).
Sofia woke up again at 11pm so I breastfed her till she fell asleep and put her back to bed. Not ideal, but I’m tired. BUT as soon as I had gotten back to the bedroom and got under the covers for a few minutes she started crying again. So I had to go back and stroke her back and let her fall asleep … It took me about an hour (from I first got up).
Then she started crying at 3am again. We have definitely gone backwards again. I picked her up and put her into bed with us. It took her just a little while to settle, but she never really slept I think – and neither did I. She cuddled up very close to me. At 5am I put her back in her own bed and she fell properly asleep immediately.
