Sofia woke up quite a few times needing comfort. Then at 4am a feed and not wanting to go back to sleep. So I put her between Mike and I again. She was tossing and turning for awhile, which resulted in a few punches and kicks again. Then she fell asleep for a little while, but hard to sleep for me because she wanted to be right up against me – so every time she moved I woke up. Sofia woke up again at 6.30 and after feeding her and attempting to get her back to sleep for a mini nap we both went upstairs.
Mormor seems to always hear us and wake up when we go upstairs, and today was no different. She got up and fed Sofia breakfast whilst we talked and waited for Mike to wake up. We played and Sofia crawled across the floor – from one end to the other – led by a millet and corn stick ha ha. Mike got up and we had breakfast – then we put Sofia down for her morning nap.
When Sofia woke up Arjan and Morfar was here. Mike and I packed our things quickly whilst the others entertained Sofia. Arjan seems to really enjoy spending time with Sofia – playing and showing her things. It’s so nice to see. Makes me sad we don’t live closer.
We tried putting Sofia down for a nap before we went out for a late lunch, but she looked wide awake and wanted to talk and move around so we decided to bring her back up and hopefully she’d fall asleep on the way to the airport.
The lunch was very nice. I am going to miss my whole family, and Helen, HÃ¥kon and Celine. We have had such a great time and I know Sofia has enjoyed getting to know them. I wish we could have stayed longer, but it helps to think they might come see us in Australia soon (1-2 years). It was still tough to say goodbye.
Sofia did fall asleep in the car, but she was not very comfortable and woke up a bit whingy the first couple of minutes. This girl gets happy quickly though :). At the airport we were an hour early to check in so we sat down and talked, had something small to eat and drink. After checking in we said goodbye to my dad. So hard to do :(. Nearly cried as I realised we are actually going.
At the gate we sat up camp and Sofia got to crawl around in the floor. And before we knew it we were boarding. Sofia fell asleep in my arms almost immediately as soon as we took off.
We got picked up at the airport by Claude and Natasha. Great to see them again :). They were happy to see us, but mostly Sofia ha ha – and Sofia was happy to meet them even though she was very tired still.
Sofia was so tired in the car she made a few whinging noises, but she was too excited about the new surroundings to sleep.
When we arrived Alex met us at the door – so great to see her again :). Dominic was stayed with a neighbour – and they were staying on a farm for a few nights – sleeping, eating…
We stayed up for a short while just to give Sofia some food and talk for a bit. Then we went to bed. It was hard for Sofia to calm down this time, but she eventually konked on the boob.
