Sofia woke up at 1am, 3am and 6am! She actually fed well all three times, so I was thinking maybe it’s a growth spurt… but strange because she hasn’t woken up like that since she was just out of hospital. I was very tired and not functioning well at 6am, so I got Mike to take care of her so I got a bit more sleep. Since the lights had already been turned on however I found it hard to find sleep again, but I did manage 20min or so I think. Mike read to her and fed her solids, then I got up and read to her some more (we love our cuddles in the morning) before it was time for her morning nap. Mike left to help a friend in Brisbane on a few open homes (he is looking to buy).
She slept for 2.5 hours!!! I wish I would have tried to get a bit of sleep, but after everything was done it had been 1.5 hours already and I was sure she was minutes from waking up. At least I got to sit and relax for a bit 🙂
When Sofia woke up we played for a bit after lunch. Pablo and Sofia had a great moment on the sofa I managed to capture, although some of the photos are a bit burry. Sofia really seems to be like ‘Pringles’ to Pablo – he ‘just can’t get enough’. He licks and licks and licks… There really isn’t time for much when nursing takes about 30minutes, then you’re supposed to give solids 30-60min afterwards (which takes about 15min to prepare and it takes Sofia 30-40min to eat), when she only lasts 2 hours before she needs a nap! I am looking forward to not having to breastfeed, and for Sofia to be awake for longer.
The second nap she only slept for 45min or so. I got her up and we went to Coles and got some groceries. She did really well, but after that she looked tired again so I took her straight home. She didn’t want to nap, but there was no way she’d last another two hours so I had her sleep on me…. it took awhile for her to fall asleep, so I made sure she only had a short nap.
After nursing her we went for a family walk. Then Sofia had her dinner before we started the night time routine.
Sofia has now started being very clear about what she wants, especially when it comes to food. She was letting me know she wanted food and wanted it NOW. She lets me know if I’m not quick enough or if she is still hungry and I have made the mistake of thinking she’s done. I take this as very good news, at least now I know I am not feeding her too much or too little.

The only consolation is: Sofia will grow it all out, quite soon, it might be……….
It will be simpler and less work when you can stop nursing her with your own feed……
Just a bit MORE patience….. sleep is important for you too, Mona………-:)
