Sofia woke up at 5.45am again today, and we all went for a walk. It was only 16 degrees this morning and I was super excited to finally put her in the pink bunny suit we bought months ago… She looked sooo cute don’t you think? (see photos).
When we got back we had a very short pay before her nap and it looked like it would suit perfectly to meet the girls at 9am, however Sofia slept for 1.45 hours and we ended up being a little more than an hour late. There were still 4 girls there and we had a nice time chatting away and playing with our little bubs. When Sofia started getting tired I tried again like I do to get her to sleep… She was sooo cute. She clearly wanted cuddles and snuggled up to me in my arms whilst sucking on her thumb, but then it was like she went ‘nah, this isn’t working’ and started wanting to play again. After a little while longer, and saying goodbye to two of the girls, Elan went walking with me. We went for quite a long walk, and Sofia fell asleep. I was sooo happy, but then after just 15min she woke up – all because I was trying to cover her up from the sun… and then refused to go back to sleep. On the way back she started crying/ desperate whinging and I thought she was tired, but Elan suggested she might be hungry…. oh and she was (we made an emergency stop). I felt really bad, but good to know she will cry if she’s hungry because I can’t say I can remember her ever really doing that.
We didn’t get back until 3pm! I fed her properly, and also gave her solids (little under 4 ounces/ 113 grams!). She did not want to sleep however… I let her try for awhile (she was not crying), then went in and tried to help her again. This time she fell asleep, however she only slept for 15min before she woke up crying. So I went in to settle her and she fell asleep on me. After a little while she started crying in her sleep, woke up slightly and realised she was still in my arms and went back to sleep. A few more little cries in her sleep poor thing, and I just stroke her arm etc and she was ok. Then she slept for about an hour and I needed her to wake up for her night time routine, but I didn’t want to wake her so I put her down on her bed. Only 3min later she woke up crying.
Once again I fed her properly and then fed her solids… Wow does Sofia love her food ha ha. She had about 3 ounces, and then half of an grated apple (thanks for the tip mum! :)). If she doesn’t put on weight this week I will be very surprised! I am finally giving her food until she says stop, which I haven’t done previously because I thought she didn’t let me know she was full. Turns out she does, I just wasn’t giving her enough…
Mike was working late today and came home just as I had put her to bed for the night. He had brought home with him poor thing and will be working for a few more hours. I just want to go to bed… bah…
